World Record Attempt

Tai Chi World Record EventFalling Leaf, Re-Vitalise Tai Chi and Tai Chi instructors throughout the UK are working to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer – a pioneering charity dedicated to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer. Breakthrough fight on three fronts: research, campaigning and education. Their aim is to bring together the best minds and rally the support of all those whose lives have been, or may one day be, affected by the disease. The result will save lives and change futures – by removing the fear of breast cancer for good.

To do this, we are looking to break a world record. The largest Tai Chi Lesson ever. We are working with Tai Chi clubs throughout the UK. On the 25th July at 11am a multi-location tai chi lesson will begin. It will last for 30 minutes or more. However, for a 30 minute period the largest ever co-ordinated Tai Chi lesson will be happening. It is timed with the WOMAD music festival, Wiltshire where one of the sessions will be led by the organiser of this world record attempt, Andy Spragg from Re-Vitalise Tai Chi.

Falling Leaf, are participating with the event and hope to attract as many people to their session on the Sunday Morning. This will be held at Shepperton, Thamesmead School Sports Centre, Manygate Lane, TW17 9EE. People wishing to take part can email us directly, contact the school on 01932 260 050, Bill on 01932 854 484 or Clive on 07834 316 769.

Anyone can take part. Young and Old, people with little or no experience of Tai Chi can take part and enjoy the event with Falling Leaf.

The Chinese hold the world record for the largest Tai Chi event. 33, 996 people. We are hoping to hit 40,000 on the day. So we are hoping to raise £40,000 for Breakthrough.
